FAQs

Why would I add Dermalux LED therapy to another treatment?

Adding Dermalux LED therapy to treatments such as chemical resurfacing, microneedling, or injectable treatments can enhance results and support faster recovery. The light wavelengths help to calm inflammation, reduce redness, and encourage healing.

I often recommend this add-on if your skin is prone to sensitivity, if you want to maximise results, or if you’re having treatment close to an event and want your skin to settle more quickly.

Can Dermalux really improve healing after injectables or skin treatments?

Yes – LED phototherapy is widely used to support post-treatment recovery. It can help reduce redness, swelling, and inflammation, and support the skin’s natural repair processes after procedures such as injectables, peels, or microneedling.

I use it as a gentle, non-invasive way to support your skin immediately after treatment, without adding extra trauma or downtime. It’s one of my favourite add-ons for patients who want their skin to recover as smoothly as possible.

Will adding Dermalux increase downtime or side effects?

No – it’s designed to do the opposite. Dermalux is very gentle and does not increase downtime. In most cases, it helps calm the skin and reduce post-treatment redness or sensitivity. It’s suitable for most skin types and can be used immediately after many in-clinic treatments. I’ll always check your individual treatment plan and skin response before recommending it as an add-on to ensure it’s appropriate for you.

Is Dermalux suitable for everyone as an add-on?

Dermalux is suitable for most people, including sensitive skin types. However, there are some medical contraindications to LED therapy (for example, certain light-sensitive conditions or medications).

I will always screen you carefully before treatment and advise you honestly if LED therapy is not appropriate for you. Your safety comes first, and I won’t recommend any add-on unless it genuinely benefits your skin and your recovery.
